PES 2nd Sindh Chapter CME of 2016
It gives us the honor to announce another successful meeting of the Pakistan Endocrine Society at Indus Medical College, Tando Muhammad Khan. Pakistan Endocrine Society held its 2nd Sindh Chapter CME of 2016 at Indus Medical College, Tando Muhammad Khan on 5th October 2016 organized by Dr. Zaman Shaikh (VP Sindh PES). Dr. Zaman Shaikh did all the arrangements for the CME but unfortunately due to his sudden ill health just one day before the CME he couldn’t be able to attend the CME. The Proceedings of the CME were as follows.
Prof. Jan Muhammad A. Memon (V.C Indus Medical College, Tando Muhammad Khan) welcome the Pakistan Endocrine Society at TMK and gives the Key-Note about the CME after that he awarded the speakers with Shields and Ajrak.
Dr. Saeed Mahar (President Pakistan Endocrine Society) gave the Welcome Address and a brief Introduction of PES and its achievements. He also announced the dates and the venue of the 14th Annual Conference of the Pakistan Endocrine Society and invited participants to attend the conference.
There were four talks in the scientific session.
1st talk was presented by Dr. Saeed Mahar and his topic was An Approach to Patients with Hyperthyroidism.
Dr. Firdous Mumtaz Memon from Indus Medical College was the second speaker and her topic was Gestational Diabetes Mellitus.
Dr. Naeem Khan Durrani Endocrinologist from LNH Karachi presented the third talk of the CME on Management: Vit. D Deficiency
Dr. Atif Sitwat Hayat fourth and last speaker of the CME and a replacement for Dr. Zaman Shaikh because of Dr. Zaman’s ill Health. The topic of Dr. Atif’s talk was the Comprehensive Practice of Diabetes Mellitus.
This program was attended by more than 150 participants, including senior faculty of Indus Medical College, PGs and family Physicians. The lectures were very well appreciated by the participants and they showed their interest by listening to the lectures very carefully and then asking questions after every talk.
At the end of the scientific session, Dr. Jan Muhammad A. Memon gave conclusive remarks and pay his heartiest thanks to the participants, Local Speakers and Pakistan Endocrine Society for considering their college for the CME and teaching their students and senior faculty about some important topics of Endocrine and Diabetes.
The program was followed by Lunch and that’s how another successful program of the Pakistan Endocrine Society ends up.
